BooTube quietly turns on closed captions behind the scenes, scanning the dialog before the actors even speak.
Using proportional interpolation, BooTube mutes the exact sub-second an inappropriate word is spoken for frame-perfect censoring.
Instantly blurs the entire video player during profanity so you don't have to lip-read or see anything visually offensive.

"It's so fast you barely even notice it happening. The custom blocklist is brilliant because I can filter exactly what I want."

The internet should be for everyone.
BooTube was built by an independent developer who wanted to watch popular, culturally relevant content without being bombarded by profanity. It's designed to give you complete control over your viewing experience.
Unlike massive corporate tools, BooTube runs 100% locally on your machine. Your custom blocklist is yours, and your data never leaves your computer.

Currently, BooTube is designed exclusively for YouTube. It specifically hooks into YouTube's custom video player and closed captioning system.
No! BooTube does not block ads or violate YouTube's Terms of Service. It simply reads the captions that YouTube already provides and adjusts the volume slider on your computer.
Absolutely not. BooTube operates 100% offline within your browser. We don't have servers, we don't track your viewing habits, and we don't sell your data.
We are always working to make the experience better, but because BooTube relies on closed captions, there are a few edge cases. Sometimes when multiple people are talking, the captions only transcribe the main speaker. Additionally, if the captions attach punctuation directly to the word (like "word."), it can sometimes slip past the exact-match scanner.
